How We Pay Our Artists //
The English Art Co. exhibits works by artists and producers on a sale or return basis, and then charges the artist commission (+ vat) on sales, paying the artist the balance, at the end of the month.
The works of art belong to the artist. The English Art Co. provides a retail environment and therefore opportunities for sales.
The commission charged contributes towards expenses in running the gallery and exhibition, including the Private Views, signage, leaflet production, advertising, marketing and social media as well as manning the gallery seven days a week.
The English Art Co. also charges commission for sales online directly related to Art Roundhay Park.
When you buy art from the artists or producer, the income is going direct to them.
When you buy from The English Art Co., the income is going to The English Art Co., with royalties going back to the artist and vat to HMRC.
So all in all, it’s a WIN WIN situation for the artist.
The English Art Co. is vat registered (227 4498 85) and is the trading name for IONA Publishing Limited, registered in England.
